Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 11th December

After having painful confrontations with both Alfie and Johnny, Linda knocks back the vodka and later has a very public humiliation

Phil and Lauren step in to help, suggesting they go to a meeting together. Linda accepts their offer, making Johnny hopeful about her recovery, but his excitement fades when he sees she’s already scheming for her next drink. In frustration, he kicks her out of The Vic, leaving Linda to wander off into the night.

Meanwhile, Sharon is incensed by Nicola. Sharon and Phil head to Teddy’s where the family are celebrating the bar launch success and reveal what Nicola’s been up to. However, after the confrontation, Phil feels further isolated from the other Mitchells and Jay clocks it.

Later, Jay pops over to see Phil, but he’s not impressed when Jay tries to dig about what’s going on.

Elsewhere, Ian is excited as he presents the family with their outfits for the Beale’s Eels Santa float. Lauren asks Cindy to get her more pills. After an enticing offer from Junior, Cindy misses the event.

With the car crash a mystery, Debbie learns that her burnt-out car was found, and her insurance is invalid due to the keys being left in the car. Shona confesses to Adam about her injured arm, a result of being almost run over by a car which is linked to the Debbie incident.

Craig sees Shona out of the station and tells Kit the case is far from closed. When Kit overhears Craig on the phone double checking CCTV footage, he kills the call and asserts that he’s in charge of the case.

Meanwhile, Gail and Jesse have a big announcement for the Platt family. When Harry emerges with a fistful of cash, David and Jesse mask their panic. How will they get out of this? Later, David finds Shona’s coat in the wheelie bin, bloodied and torn.

Elsewhere, Joel’s parents approach Dee-Dee and invite her to join them at a memorial service in honour of Joel’s birthday. Insisting she’s too busy, Dee-Dee ushers Gus and Anthea out as Max passes by with Frankie in his pram.

Max stops and introduces them to Lauren’s son but when Dee-Dee reveals who they are, Max is mortified.

Also, Sarah urges Bethany to make a decision, either forgive Daniel or leave him; Evelyn gets one over on Steve.

Furious at Cain when Liam drops him off, Moira reveals about his surprise party and insists he pulls himself together for tomorrow.

Cain struggles to concentrate on the impending celebration and feels he has to tell Moira the truth. Will he go through with it?
