Odds slashed on Coleen Rooney to win I’m A Celeb

Coleen Rooney clear second favourite for I’m A Celeb after huge move in betting…

Two bookmakers have the WAG moving up the popularity ranks of the ITV1 and STV show with viewers.

Having been as big as 16/1 before the weekend, Coleen Rooney is a huge market mover and is now just 2/1 with BetMGM to be crowned the winner of this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

Following her first Bushtucker Trial on Sunday, Rooney has seen her popularity grow, and the seismic shift in odds makes her the standout second favourite behind Danny Jones at Evens and ahead of Maura Higgins at 5/1. Drifters in the market include Tulisa, who is out to 16/1 from 5/1, and GK Barry who is now 20/1 to win with the leading bookmaker.

UK Director at BetMGM, Sam Behar:

“Three clear frontrunners have emerged as we enter the second week of I’m a Celeb, with Coleen Rooney the big mover, seeing odds slashed from 16/1 to just 2/1. McFly’s Danny Jones is still the outright favourite but the money we have seen for Rooney puts her just behind and ahead of third favourite Maura Higgins, who is 5/1 with BetMGM. After those three is Tulisa but, at 16/1, it appears the top three could already be taking shape with two weeks of the show still to run.”

Danny Jones, favourite to win the ITV jungle show

Meanwhile at William Hill Coleen Rooney has seen her odds slashed to win.  Rooney has seen gradual support in the betting over the past few days and has been backed into 5/2, having been as big as 10/1 at the start of the weekend.

McFly’s Danny Jones remains a strong favourite, shortening from 7/4 into even-money, with Maura Higgins rounding out a runaway top three at 5/1. Dean McCullough has meanwhile seen his odds to be crowned King of the Jungle drift after his spat with Alan Halsall and is now 40/1 from 10/1 when the show began.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps:

“Coleen Rooney has been a notable mover in the outright betting for this year’s I’m A Celeb crown over the past few days. Rooney has seen her price quartered, as she was backed in from 10/1 to 5/2 over the weekend, edging ever-closer to market leader Danny Jones (EVS). Maura Higgins has also been popular with viewers and has been backed into 5/1 from 10/1. The same can’t be said for Dean McCullough, who, having received mixed reactions from the public after poor trial performances and a spat with Alan Halsall, has seen his odds fly out to 40/1.”
