It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Lindeth Howe…
Lindeth Howe Hotel will soon be transforming into a festive wonderland, with Christmas events taking place throughout December. Kicking off the festivities on Saturday, December 7th, will be a reading of A Christmas Carol by Graham Tyson in the hotel’s Hilltop Room.
The recitation will be from the authentic version of ‘A Christmas Carol’, as used by Charles Dickens himself on his reading tour of the UK in 1890, with tickets just £11.95 per person.
This will be followed on Sunday, December 8th, Santa will be visiting the hotel for its annual Holiday Market, hosting local crafters and of course offering free visits to the man in red.
Crafters with stalls at the event include Firefrost Murano glass jewellery, NW Crafty Creations, Bear & Bee jewellery and cards, Sarah Roocks Design fine art and accessories, Westmorland Design silver jewellery, Roesk candle company, Joans Paper Crafts, Francis Creations, Tim Ward Art, Helen Scarr Crafts and Flowers by design. A few spots remain for any local crafters, and those that would like to attend should apply directly to the hotel.
There will also be a raffle held for all guests, with all funds being donated to the Windermere Food Bank. Prizes up for grabs have been donated by businesses and private individuals from across Cumbria and include hotel stays, afternoon teas, lunches, bottles and food hampers, plus more.
Entry to the festive fayre is free of charge and visits to Santa are also free, visitors are just asked to make a donation of food to Windermere Food Bank if possible. In addition, the Lake District Falconry will be showcasing some impressive birds to guests and a 25 percent discount will be given to anyone purchasing hotel gift vouchers at the event.
Tony Holden, General Manager of Lindeth Howe:
“We always enjoy the festive season here at Lindeth Howe, from our traditional readings to welcoming the talented local crafters into the hotel for the Lindeth Howe Holiday Market. It’s a wonderfully festive occasion and also a great chance for little ones to meet Santa and share their wish list ahead of the big day.”
Throughout December Lindeth Howe will also be offering a range of festive afternoon teas, including a Children’s Festive Afternoon Tea, a Festive High Tea and a Deluxe Festive Afternoon Tea.
Tasty treats on the menu range from Gingerbread for the younger guests to Chocolate Guinness Cake with cream cheese frosting for our adult menus. And all children enjoying an afternoon tea will also be gifted an activity bag, suitable from ages 3 and over.
