‘Concerts for Conservation’ launch by Cheetah Conservation Fund UK

The Cheetah Conservation Fund UK, an affiliate of the global charity headquartered in Namibia dedicated to saving the wild cheetah, has launched a series of affordable local gigs around the UK to raise funds for its plight to save the wild cheetah from extinction.
The venue for the very first gig takes place at the legendary Water Rats in London later this month, promising a fun night of pop and soul featuring local resident bands, the powerful vocals of Heather Small (The voice of M People) and maybe even another surprise guest.

“A jam-packed evening full of entertainment, all for an incredible cause at just £35 a ticket – not a bad way to spend a Thursday evening with friends while contributing to saving cheetahs in the wild!”

The newly launched Concerts for Conservation will bring the public a series of small concerts across the UK throughout the year, starting with intimate local venues in London and Kent.  Dates will continue to be announced. Featuring local bands at local prices the concerts are accessible for all, and promise to always feature a surprise guest as a bonus act on the night.

Those lucky enough to grab a Concerts for Conservation ticket will not only bag themselves a great night out, but will also be funding conservation on the front line with 75% of profits going directly to the Cheetah Conservation Fund’s programmes, primarily in Namibia and Somaliland, but also across Africa and the rest of the world.  These programmes work tirelessly to protect the cheetah from daily threats such as human-wildlife conflict, habitat loss and the illegal wildlife trade where cubs are being taken from their mothers in the wild.

The remaining 25% of profits will be allocated to a fund towards bringing something extremely special to the UK in years to come – the ULTIMATE Concert for Conservation – aiming to bring a huge concert with major recording artists from across the world raising funds for multiple charities working together for various wildlife, eco-system and environmental projects.  Subject to enough funds being raised by Concerts for Conservation, this monumental event will take place in 2030.

James Hanaway, Director of Development from CCF UK:

“Music has a unique ability to bring people together so we are incredibly excited to be launching Concerts for Conservation today.  Through these events, people can make a significant impact to ongoing programmes on the front line to support the cheetah in its race for survival.  We invite everyone to come along for a great time and keep watching for new dates and venues to be released!”

Concerts for Conservation takes place on Thursday 21 November 2024 at the Water Rats, Grays Inn Road, London. Tickets and pricing can be found here.

Heather Small:

“I’m delighted to add my voice to this special event and be the first to sing to save the cheetahs! These animals have a special place on the planet and in my heart and I’m so glad to be supporting their conservation.  I’m looking forward to a fabulous night and the hope for more concerts in the future.”
