ITV is set to broadcast a new series featuring Fred Sirieix, who will be exploring the Emerald Isle in a five-part series titled ‘Fred’s Tour De Ireland.’
In ‘Fred’s Tour De Ireland,‘ Fred will fully embrace the ‘joie de vivre’ as he takes on a cycling journey across the breathtaking landscapes of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The series will follow him as he greets the rich culture, history, and people of Ireland, delving into local life and uncovering hidden treasures over the course of five episodes.
Sue Walton, Executive Producer, ITV Studios Daytime:
“Fred has a natural curiosity and loves connecting with people and learning about the land around him – Fred’s cycling tour plays to many of his passions and we are delighted to be working with him and Waddell Media on this exciting new show”
With his trusty bicycle by his side, Fred will board a ferry eager to explore a country about which he knows very little—more than three decades since he first crossed the sea from France. His journey will take him through a variety of picturesque and historical settings.
Fred, keen on fitness and cycling, will undertake a different challenge on his bike in each episode. After arriving in Dublin, Fred starts with an Ulster Fry to prepare himself for a steep climb by bike to the Spelga Dam Reservoir in the Mourne Mountains, the first of five distinct journeys bringing their own demands.
These cycling challenges will also bring rewarding experiences along the way as Fred makes his way across several counties from Dublin to Donegal, the Mourne Mountains, Strangford Lough, Belfast, the North Coast, Derry/Londonderry and the Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal.
Fred Sirieix:
“I’ve always wanted to spend some quality time in Ireland to explore the land, learn about the people, plus its food and culture. Travelling by bike can bring you even closer to a place and those that live there, I can’t wait to get started!”
Fred’s Tour De Ireland is due to air on ITV1, STV, STV Player and ITVX in 2025.
