ITV News has today announced its initial line-up for the overnight coverage of the upcoming US presidential election. Tom Bradby will once again lead the broadcast live from Washington DC, presenting Harris V Trump: The Results from 10.45pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX. He will be joined by correspondent Robert Moore, covering his sixth US presidential election.
Anushka Asthana, ITV News’ Deputy Political Editor, will take charge of the election results as they come in, using the battleboard to help viewers understand the unfolding story. The broadcast will also feature live crosses to CNN every hour to ensure the latest results are available as soon as they are announced.
The programme will host a roster of experts and insiders to provide comprehensive analysis and insight. Former Trump spokeswoman Heather Nauert and former Obama/Biden advisor Adam Hodge will join the team, alongside election analyst Jessica Taylor from the Cook Political Report. Former Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin has also been confirmed as a guest across both ITV News and Good Morning Britain.
International Editor Emma Murphy will be tracking the Harris campaign, while US correspondent Dan Rivers will follow the Trump campaign’s movements. Julie Etchingham will be reporting live from California, Harris’ home state, examining the Vice President’s record and speaking to those who know her best. Rohit Kachroo, ITV News’ Global Security Editor, together with correspondents Rachel Younger and Sejal Karia, will provide in-depth coverage from crucial swing states, where the election may ultimately be decided.
ITV News will also offer comprehensive coverage of the US election across ITVX and its digital platforms, with a particular focus on the Gen Z vote in America, explored through a series of explainers. Additionally, a variety of video explainers will break down key elements of the election, including the Electoral College, Battleground States, Congress, and the Senate.
ITVX is set to feature Talking Politics US once more, the special election editions of the ITV News politics podcast, with episodes broadcast live from Washington DC. Additionally, viewers can access the Battleground America series, which offers comprehensive analysis of the most fiercely contested segments of the race. To keep audiences informed, a dedicated overnight web and social media team will document crucial election moments as they unfold, with selected highlights presented on ITVX.
At 6am, ITV News will hand over to Good Morning Britain: America Decides, for a full election results special with correspondents around the US including Noel Phillips and Chief Correspondent Richard Gaisford. The show will be hosted by Susanna Reid and Ed Balls.
Guests on the programme will include Stormy Daniels, the woman at the centre of the legal case that made Trump a convicted felon, former BBC North America Editor and host of The News Agents podcast Jon Sopel, as well as Donald Trump’s nephew Fred Trump III and his long-time friend and supporter, Mike Lindell. US army veteran and Nevada State Senator Pat Spearman and legendary pollster Frank Luntz will also appear and Sarah Palin will stay with ITV as anticipation builds into the morning.
GMB’s digital team is set to provide viewers with a behind-the-scenes look as Susanna and Ed travel to the US, offering exclusive online content, detailed election explainers, and real-time updates as the election results come in. Good Morning Britain will also be live from Washington DC on November 7th.
