David Wicks is back in Walford on a mercy mission to help Bianca. He’s concerned after talking to Bianca about her mental health and after hearing more from Kat about his daughter’s alarming behaviour.

Bianca tries to persuade David that Reiss is a murderer, prompting him to confront Reiss directly.

Cindy confides in George about her unease regarding David’s return, and he encourages her to face it head-on. After his meeting with Reiss, David is taken aback when he gets a surprising reminder from his past – Cindy is alive and right in front of him.

Meanwhile, Yolande talks to Denise about the importance of honesty and truth, triggering guilty Denise into opening up in a vague way about her lies over the club crush. With Yolande’s words about the corrosive nature of lies ringing in her ears, Denise steels herself to tell Jack the truth about Chelsea causing the club crush.

Elsewhere, Kat tells the boys that Alfie has got the Manager’s job at the Minute Mart and has gone on a two-week training course. Tommy is moody as Alfie has forgotten about their football plans, and Kat tries to reassure him that Alfie isn’t abandoning him.

Also, Ian tells Peter and Lauren that he and Cindy might get married again but admits he fumbled the proposal.

Carla’s day goes from bad to worse when Betsy lets slip to an important client that she is in court for ABH and Sally admits Sarah is in Turkey.

At court Carla comes face to face with Tom, the dad of the lad she knocked over.

Back at the factory, with the client less than impressed, Carla takes her anger out on Betsy and Sarah, unaware that Tom has followed her back from court. She’s startled when Tom appears, his fury evident, is Carla in danger?

A tender moment with Lisa leaves Carla feeling confused. Has Lisa felt it too?

Meanwhile, with Summer, Bernie and Gemma present, Billy reads out Paul’s wish list in which he leaves his VHS tapes to Bernie, a hoodie to Gemma, a special mug to Summer, all his love to Billy and a special message for Kit.

Elsewhere, David breaks the news to Shona that Gail’s taken out a bridging loan to pay for Bethany’s medevac flight home and she is committed to selling the house.

Also, Kit downloads the files from Joel’s laptop and, horrified by what he finds, he calls Lisa.

As Mason sets off to his college course, Stu and Yasmeen wish him the best of luck. In the precinct, Mason and Betsy compare the terrible day they’ve each had.

Coronation Street, ITV1, tonight at 8pm

Manpreet spots tension when Charles and Jai square up to each other. Charles is embarrassed as Manpreet berates him and walks away.

Meanwhile, once Tom thinks he is home alone, he begins to smash his tablet up with a hammer – unaware Carl is watching on unseen.

Elsewhere, Laurel and Arthur’s relationship is in turmoil.

Also, Kim comes downstairs looking stunning for a dinner date with her financial advisor, Peter. Jimmy’s jaw is on the floor at what he’s witnessed and Will is left seething.
