Strictly Come Dancing: Most Popular Bets

Most Popular Strictly Come Dancing Bets After Launch Show…

Following Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing launch show, Oddschecker have revealed the most popular bets placed, with a surprising name emerging as the number one choice. Despite ranked as an outsider with the bookies, Montell Douglas has been the most popular bet on Oddschecker to win the series since the show aired.

At odds of 10/1, Douglas has managed to pick up an impressive 21.4% of all bets placed on the Strictly Come Dancing winner market. This is a significant rise from the mere 1.6% share of total bets Douglas had received in the month leading up to Saturday’s opening show.

Another unexpected contender, Pete Wicks, has also seen strong support, securing 14.4% of the market share since Saturday. Meanwhile, the current betting favourite, JB Gill, with odds of 7/2, has attracted 12.8% of all bets.

In the First Contestant to Be Eliminated market, Paul Merson has emerged as the clear favourite among Oddschecker bettors. He has claimed 27.3% of bets since Saturday and is the current front-runner to be the first eliminated, with odds of 11/8.

Oddschecker’s Leon Blackman:

“Following Saturday’s launch, Montell Douglas has become a surprise favorite among Strictly Come Dancing bettors. Since the show aired, Douglas has received 21.4% of all bets in the winner market, a significant leap from just 1.6% before Saturday. However, historically, this may not bode well for her, as none of the top five most popular bets post-launch in the last five years have gone on to win the competition.”
