Reiss’ financial problems are getting worse as Debbie’s care home informs him that he still owes them money and Debbie will be relocated if he doesn’t settle the debt. In an attempt to scam her, Reiss lies to Sharon about an unpaid VAT receipt, but changes his mind when she becomes upset about Keanu.
Seeking comfort, Reiss visits Debbie before returning home to confess everything to Sonia, but he changes his mind when she shares some positive news. However, Reiss eventually admits to their financial troubles.
Later, Reiss goes to No.43 and admits to Sharon that he was wrong – the VAT bill is still outstanding and she will have to pay by tomorrow…
Meanwhile, it’s the day of Dean’s plea hearing and Linda is struggling to cope. Bernie is deflated when Jack reveals he can’t attend, but her attention is soon diverted to Linda who tries to evade her questioning.
Elsewhere, Kat and Alfie are furious when the school inform them of Tommy’s absence. Alfie finds Tommy in the Boxing Den sparring with Phil, and orders him to the laundrette to start his summer job.
Later, Tommy heads to No.55 and pleads with Phil to get back with Kat.
