Billy plans a surprise party for Stevie at The Vic and tells Will that Stevie and his long-lost mum, Val, had the same birthday. Teddy meets Stevie at the café to give him a card and warns him about lying. Phil overhears them and asks Ritchie to investigate.
At The Vic, Stevie is thrilled with the effort that has gone into the party. Billy gives a speech about his dad and wishes his mum well, wherever she is. Phil takes Stevie aside and presents him with the evidence that Ritchie has found.
Ushering Billy and Teddy back to No.18 with him and Phil, Stevie confesses to Billy that his mum is dead.
Meanwhile, Denzel is dreading school, especially when he gets an angry voice note from Avani, and he has a difficult conversation with Amy. Denzel hits the gym instead but he’s scared when he starts experiencing pains. Later, he talks to Nugget, who tells him it’s dangerous to stop using steroids cold turkey.
Howie finds out Denzel lied about going to school from Amy, and they row. When Denzel confronts Amy, she gives him a reality check about how he’s treated her.
Elsewhere, Suki advises Priya not to give up on Nugget. At the hospital, Priya does her best to explain her actions but accidentally reveals to Nugget that the doctors are considering putting him on dialysis.

As Roy heads out of the cafe to take some homemade soup to Shona, he is confronted by a gang of yobs calling him names and he stumbles to the floor. Carla rushes to his aid but it is clear he is in pain.
When Shona admits that she was never ill, Roy sends her and Evelyn packing. Shona is telling Nina what happened when an ambulance comes round the corner. Nina and Shona rush into the cafe to find Roy being given CPR.
In the hospital, a visitor appears at Roy’s bedside.
Meanwhile, Maria is stunned to get a letter saying Mason is due to be released from prison. She heads to the police station to ask some questions, unaware that Gary is there with Sarah providing his bank statements.
As Gary comes out of the interview room, Maria demands to know what is going on. Will Gary come clean?
Elsewhere, Leanne tells Nick she is going to spend the day looking after Toyah, but when Rowan calls asking her to attend the taster session for new recruits, Toyah offers to go with her. As they arrive at the Chariot Square Hotel, Leanne is delighted to see Amy amongst the attendees.
Also, Craig confides in Beth that he’s worried he’s made an enemy of Kit; Betsy suggests to Carla she might like to employ her full time but Carla gives her short shrift.

Paddy encourages a weary Mandy to apologise to Rhona for her behaviour at the double date the night before.
As visiting time at the prison ends, Amy is glad that Matty is more positive. As she watches him go, she’s approached by Robbo, who she mistakes for Les.
Robbo’s sympathetic front leads to Amy mentioning the truth about Matty. Amy is oblivious to the danger she has now put her husband in.
Meanwhile, Moira is angry when she learns that Josh and Samson plan to leave for their European trip sooner than before, vowing to stop them. Moira bursts into the Dingles’ and confronts Sam, who defends his son’s innocence.
Elsewhere, Evan spits up his medication under Billy’s care, resulting in Dawn losing trust in her husband.
Also, Laurel realises that Jay is in denial.
