Fifty years ago today Ruth Elliott reported on the legends surrounding the Rollright Stones, an ancient site on the Warwickshire and Oxfordshire border.
The Bronze Age Rollright Stones, which are near Long Compton in Warwickshire, have stood since the time of the first pyramids and are supposed to have connections with witchcraft. Elliott talks to the author John Ivanby, who has a new theory that the stones were built by ancient Egyptian settlers to observe the sun and the moon.
