Glynis Barber announces Hollyoaks exit

Glynis Barber has announced that she will be leaving Hollyoaks.

The actress has been portraying the villainous character Norma Crow in the soap since 2022. In an Instagram post, she shared that she has completed filming her final scenes.

In the post, Barber uploaded a picture with her co-stars Rita Simons and Jamie Lomas, noting she had a “special day of filming, wrapping up my scenes on @hollyoaksofficial”.

Barber also took the opportunity to praise Lomas, who plays her on-screen son Warren Fox, describing him as a “generous and gifted actor”.

Lomas will be leaving the soap himself later this year.

Barber further mentioned her reunion with Simons, describing the actress as one of her favourite people. The pair previously worked together on EastEnders where they played mother and daughter Glenda and Roxy Mitchell.

Barber is one of a number of stars reported to be leaving the E4 soap in recent weeks, including Jamie LomasRoss Adams and Stephanie Waring.

The show is being compelled to reduce its on-screen talent before transitioning to airing three episodes per week starting in September.
