On this Day 1980: Noele Gordon and an Air France Concorde
OTD, May 27th 1980…
An Air France Concorde is seen landing at the East Midlands airport. Inside the terminal building, a hundred passengers queued for their tickets and watched the aircraft through the windows.
ATV star Noele Gordon presented Mr Sam Hunt with a surprise ticket to fly to Orly airport.
Newspaper boy Paul Fisher from Wolverhampton, who won a flight, was shown around the cockpit before take off. John Mitchell briefly spoke to Noele Gordon, who had never travelled in Concorde previously. Views of Concorde on the runway, Noele Gordon walking across the tarmac and Concorde taking off also features.
