Clannad to perform music from Robin of Sherwood at 40th anniversary gig

Legendary Celtic Irish folk heroes Clannad will play a very special show at London’s The Royal Albert Hall…

Wednesday 30th October will see Clannad celebrate the 40th anniversary of the BAFTA-winning Robin of Sherwood television series produced by HTV for the ITV Network.

Tickets for Clannad’s The Royal Albert Hall show will be the band’s only live performance of 2024 and follows the conclusion of their In a Lifetime – Farewell Tour which wrapped up in the USA last October.

The band announced the exciting news during the ‘Herne’s Arrow’ commemorative event on Saturday (May 18th) which brought all the actors and crew involved in the television series back together to celebrate the anniversary with fans alike. Michael Praed, Ray Winstone, and Jason Connery were among the event attendees.

To mark the anniversary the band will also be re-releasing a special edition of the ‘Legend‘ album that will feature previously unreleased music. The re-release is set to land in early October via BMG.

The series was produced by HTV, who operated the ITV West and ITV Wales services.

Framed by the heavenly vocals of Moya Brennan, Clannad’s music carries the listener across oceans and aeons to a time when a proud culture was first born. Fusing elements of Irish folk music with rock, pop, new age, and jazz, the band has created a beautifully unique and ethereal sound with haunting melodies and mesmerizing vocals.
