The former Going Live! host hasn’t legally done anything wrong, but has still had to step back from TV work…
There were several controversies during Phillip Schofield’s final few years on ITV’s This Morning – itself in a ratings dive – but while a misplaced ego may have been at play, the Talking Telephone Numbers personality hasn’t done anything illegal. So with that in mind, bookies have seen Scoffe heavily backed to appear in this year’s edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
According to betideas.com Schofield is the market leader at 8/11 to appear in the jungle after recently being spotted with presenter Declan Donnelly and reactivating his social media channels, sparking rumours of a television comeback.
The other odds-on selection in the betting is Baby Reindeer’s Richard Gadd (10/11), with James Anderson (2/1), John Fury (5/2) and Alex Scott (3/1) also among the favourites.

Lee Astley, spokesperson for betideas.com:
“Phillip Schofield appears to be on something of a comeback trail after being photographed with Declan Donnelly recently and is the market leader for a sensational appearance on this year’s edition of I’m A Celebrity. Schofield is 8/11 for a stint in the jungle later this year and narrowly leads the betting ahead of Baby Reindeer’s Richard Gadd, who is 10/11 to feature in this winter’s series.”
“Other notable names in the market include soon-to-retire cricketer James Anderson, the controversial father of Tyson, John Fury, and former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp (33/1).”
Philip was forced to quit ITV when he revealed he’d lied to bosses about an affair with a much younger man who had worked on This Morning. It is reported the other person involved hasn’t spoken out about it due to a lucrative gagging order, which led to further speculation about why that was needed if there are no dirty skeletons in the daytime closet. This could cause embarrassment if the Mr and Mrs and The Cube host gets probed in the jungle.
