Pick of the Plots: Monday 13th May

Elaine returns to The Vic, feeling hurt after discovering that George and Cindy shared a kiss. She feels even more disheartened when George doesn’t seem to have been affected by her absence.

Cindy arrives and reveals that George is set to fight again, despite the efforts of the Knight women to change his mind. Gina tries to blackmail George into backing out of the fight, but her attempts are unsuccessful.

Frustrated, Elaine tells Cindy to leave. Later, Anna provides comfort to Elaine, who is still upset. In a final desperate attempt, Anna leaves a message with Junior to try and prevent the fight from happening.

Meanwhile, Amy is jealous of Denzel and Ebony’s budding friendship and confides in Penny that she wants to sleep with Denzel. Penny states she should only take that step if she’s ready. Amy heads to No.20 where Denzel is hosting a party. She asks to spend some alone time with him upstairs.

Elsewhere, Bianca enlists Britney’s help to acquire items for Whitney’s wedding, but Britney soon gets up to her old tricks. Later, Whitney is unimpressed when Britney lets slip about her and Bianca’s antics.

Also, Yolande decides to take a holiday with Patrick. Denzel pleads with Yolande to leave him home alone, promising he can be trusted.

Gemma realises Bernie has been lying about her whereabouts and asks Dev to do some digging.

Dev confronts Bernie, who crumbles. She admits that she had another son, Zodiac, who was taken into care. He was later adopted, changed his name to Christopher Green and she’s determined to find him.

Meanwhile, Dee-Dee takes a call from the CPS informing her that they have some news regarding Lauren’s phone messages. Dee-Dee tells Carla and Nina about the messages which have come to light. Bethany listens, her mind a whirl.

Bethany inveigles her way into the solicitors and locates Lauren’s file on Dee-Dee’s desk.

Elsewhere, Toyah finds a forum for ex-members of the Altovalent Institute. She tries to show Leanne a post she’s seen, suggesting that The Institute is not to be trusted, only to discover it’s been taken down for legal reasons.

Leanne’s dismissive but calls Rowan who makes out that his bitter ex wrote it and there’s no truth in her words. When Rowan reveals that he’s been promoted to head of the North-West division and offers her a tour of the Institute, Leanne’s flattered.

Also, George apologises to Glenda and hands her a cheque for £22k by way of a compromise, hoping it’s an end to their feud.

Coronation Street, ITV1, tonight at 8pm

Nicky continues to fight for his life. Ethan is arrested for Nicky’s accident and is devastated to realise that it was his father who reported him to the police.

Having seen Ethan’s arrest, raging Ruby realises he must have been driving Nicky’s car. Charles begins to regret his decision as he watches his family’s devastation to see Ethan taken away by the police.

Meanwhile, after an unusual date at the scrapyard, Ella and Liam are smitten as they settle down to wine and a picnic.

Elsewhere, Amy reluctantly agrees to give Eric one last chance.
