BBC Radio 4 asks listeners to submit content for ‘Today’

The Beeb is giving listeners from across the UK the chance to suggest a story for the team to look into as part of Today: Your Election…

BBC Radio 4 is inviting listeners to apply in pairs or in groups of up to six people, with either a written submission of 250 words or a two-minute video or audio recording outlining their idea for a story or issue they want the Today programme to focus on.

The ideas will be used for a single piece of reporting, a discussion or a collection of interviews that will feature as a segment on the programme.

Owenna Griffiths, editor, Today:

“In the year of the general election, we want to make sure Today is reporting on the issues our listeners really care about. Thousands of listeners applied for the opportunity to guest edit Today last summer, and we hope this will give them another chance to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the programme.”

The successful teams of listeners will be chosen by the Today senior editorial team. Each of the chosen applicants will have the support of Today producers who will help bring their idea to air and make sure they adhere to the BBC’s editorial guidelines.

Applications for submission are now open and will close at 11.59pm on 31 May 2024. Applications can be submitted online at BBC Radio 4 – Today – Today: Your Election
