Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 24th April

Lauren persists that Whitney must tell Zack the truth about Britney being in their care. Their tense exchange in the minute mart is overheard by Zack. Whitney covers and Lauren remains unhappy with her friend.

Whitney and Lauren find a downtrodden Britney who reveals that she had a run in with some bullies on the way to school. Whitney ignores Zack’s advice and finds the bully in question, but she makes the situation worse when Britney is teased about Whitney’s intervention.

Meanwhile, Jade receives a letter from Dean asking her to visit him in prison. The Slaters are far from supportive of the idea and Stacey convinces her not to go after receiving backing from Jean. They arrange a leaving party for Jade in The Vic where Avani gives Jade food for thought.

Elsewhere, Nadine visits Jay, Honey and Callum to apologise for causing upset with Lexi about the pregnancy. Nadine is overcome with guilt when she realises how serious Jay is about the baby.

Leanne’s bemused when Joel mentions the rose Toyah apparently bought for her. Toyah covers that she binned it. When Toyah stands by her actions and mentions stopping the sleuths from desecrating such a special place, Nick’s puzzled by her choice of words.

Later, Nick finds Toyah in tears at home. She reveals that at 19, she gave birth to a stillborn baby girl, she kept it a secret and she buried her in the exact same place in the park that she found the sleuths digging up. Toyah takes a deep breath and explains to Nick that the baby’s father was Phil Simmonds, the man who raped her.

Simon returns home and oblivious to the tension, tells Nick and Toyah that the police are digging up North Cross Park and Bobby reckons they’ve found a body. Will Toyah find herself in even more trouble?

Meanwhile, Asha confides in Aadi that she’s had a response from the troll behind the video and she’s arranged to meet him in the precinct. Aadi offers to go with her but gets distracted.

As Asha arrives at the precinct, there’s no sign of Aadi and she tries his mobile repeatedly. As she makes to leave, TrueMan67 and his sidekick, Banditman, reveal themselves and start asking awkward questions to a scared Asha. Is Asha in danger?

Elsewhere, Todd sneaks a look at George’s will. When Todd reveals that George is leaving him the business, Eileen points out that he’d change his mind if he knew he’d gone behind his back.

Meanwhile, Manpreet does Billy’s classes and soon realises she has a crush on him.

Elsewhere, when Belle spots Tom seemingly bonding with Vinny, she wonders what he is up to – well aware that Tom will have a reason for it. Tom reveals he is keen to help Vinny find a girlfriend and he enjoys the process of helping find one.

Also, Charity is proud of Sarah’s new job, but Mack is flustered when Sarah suggests she’s replacing him at the garage.
