Joe Lycett and Adam Buxton spend 48 hours in Prague

Best on the Box choice for April 5th…

Joe Lycett shows more willing celebrity guests how to get the most out of a weekend away, with a fun-packed 48-hour itinerary of trademark humour and facts. Comedian and podcaster Adam Buxton joins Joe to peruse Prague’s wonders.

The River Vltava is their first stop in Czechia, where they embark on a kayak tour taking in the key sights, including the castle and the Charles Bridge. Back on dry land, they explore the work of Czech sculptor David Cerný, whose controversial pieces adorn the city. After a brief interlude in Prague’s narrowest alleyway, dinner is served at Levitate, where they eat their way through an 18-course tasting menu – inspired by the Czech seasons with a Nordic-Asian twist, which involves eating a sausage out of a skull and sampling caviar-laced ice cream.

On day two, Adam and Joe board Europe’s oldest preserved carousel, which is made with real horse hide, and take in Prague’s famous graffiti culture, which arose during communist times as a way of speaking out against the regime.

They sign up for a graffiti workshop in one of the city’s legally sanctioned graffiti zones and leave their mark on the city. But it wouldn’t be a lads’ weekend without a nod to Prague’s status as the world’s beer capital, so Joe and Adam enjoy a beer spa, which claims a never-ending list of health benefits.

Finally, they ascend the Zizkov TV Tower, once voted the second ugliest building in the world, for a bird’s eye view of the city.
