Romesh Ranganathan to return with more Weakest Link for BBC One

More quizzing on Saturday night’s with Romesh Ranganathan…

The Weakest Link, hosted by Romesh for a fourth series, will return to BBC One later this year.

Pete Ogden, Executive Producer BBC Studios Entertainment Productions:

“We’re so excited to be back with another series of The Weakest Link to entertain the nation with on a Saturday night. With the amazing Romesh back at the helm, we know there will be lots of laughs. We have some fantastic special episodes lined up for this series and can’t wait to put our stellar line up of celebrity contestants to the test, for excellent causes.”

The Weakest Link is currently averaging 3.5M across the series, peaking at 4.4M for the EastEnders special.

More star-studded line ups of celebrity contestants will battle it out in one of the world’s most iconic quizzes, where the celebrities work as a team to build a cash prize for charity whilst trying to avoid the walk of shame and being voted ‘The Weakest Link’ by their fellow contestants. Only one player will be crowned The Strongest Link and secure the prize for charity.

The new series will feature a number of special themed episodes including Strictly Come Dancing, comedians, Gladiators, and duos and more…

Romesh Ranganathan:

“It’s really a delight to be part of the BBC One Saturday night experience. I once again look forward to taking the credit if it goes well and blaming the format if it doesn’t.”

The new series begins filming in Glasgow this Spring, with The Weakest Link returning to BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this year. The Weakest Link is currently averaging 3.5M across the series, peaking at 4.4M for the EastEnders special.
