Radio team up for hospital broadcasting awards…

The UK Hospital Radio Awards have shortlisted programmes produced and presented by volunteers at Glasgow’s Hospital Broadcasting Service in four categories in the 2024 nominations. For the second year in a row, Hannah Sweeney, Chiara Marchetti and Val Ferrari who are the team behind the Tuesday evening request show are up for the award for ‘The Show with Multiple Presenters’
Emily Page, who took the silver gong in the ‘Best Newcomer’ category last year, is up for ‘Best Female Presenter’ in this year’s event while ‘Flora Csizamadia’s Hobby Hour’, which offers ideas for patients looking for local groups that can help recovery, is also in contention for the ‘Best Speech Package’ award.
HBS Glasgow broadcasting stalwart Robert Craw is nominated in the ‘Best Male Presenter’ category.
Radio presenter Robert Craw:
“I am delighted to be nominated as Best Male Presenter. It’s a pleasure to present music and chat to patients and other listeners. Hopefully they enjoy it as well.”
The final winners of the UK Hospital Radio Awards 2024 are to be announced at a gala ceremony on the 13th of April where the decision of the judging panel which is made up of broadcasting and healthcare professionals will be announced. HBS has been broadcasting to patients since Christmas Day 1970 and patients can listen via the HBS website using their smart device and the free patient WiFi in every NHSGGC location
