Sir Ben Kingsley stars as Mohandas Gandhi in Lord Richard Attenborough’s riveting biography of the man who rose from simple lawyer to worldwide symbol of peace and understanding. A critical masterpiece, Gandhi is an intriguing story about activism, politics, religious tolerance and freedom.
But at the centre of it all is an extraordinary man who fought for a nonviolent, peaceful existence, and set an entire nation free. Erin Brockovich – Sunday 10th March at 9pm
Julia Roberts won an Oscar for her starring role in the inspirational true story of a woman who helped win the largest settlement ever paid in a direct-action lawsuit. Erin Brockovich (Roberts) is a single mother of three who, after losing a personal injury lawsuit, asks her lawyer, Ed Masry (Albert Finney), if he can help her find a job. Ed gives her work as a file clerk in his office, and she runs across some information on a little-known case filed against Pacific Gas and Electric.
As Erin begins digging, she’s convinced that the facts simply don’t add up and persuades Ed to allow her to do further research.
