Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers dies aged 66

Dave Myers, one of the stars of Hairy Bikers, has passed away at the age of 66.

The TV chef passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, according to his friend and co-star Si King.

“I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime,” King’s statement read. “I wish you god’s speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya.”

Throughout their nearly 30-year friendship and career, Myers and King published over 25 cookbooks and entertained audiences with their cooking and travel adventures.

Myers disclosed that he was battling with cancer on the Hairy Bikers – Agony Uncles podcast in May 2022, without specifying the type of cancer. Despite facing challenges during his chemotherapy treatment, he returned to filming and was recently seen on the BBC Two series, Hairy Bikers Go West.

Other BBC series to feature the culinary duo include The Hairy Bikers Go North, The Hairy Bikers Mediterranean Adventure, The Hairy Bikers Comfort Food, and The Hairy Bikers Everyday Gourmets.

The pair also appeared on Channel 5 with The Hairy Bikers Chocolate Challenge and have had guest spots in the kitchen on ITV’s This Morning.

In 2013, Myers participated in Strictly Come Dancing, partnering with Karen Hauer and making it to week seven of the competition.
