Shop Smart, Save Money returns this week to help the nation find the right products at the right price.
Each week, new hosts Gaby Roslin and Ortis Deley uncover various ways to get the best deals on those things we regularly spend money on. They also invite members of the public to spend the day with them and guest test all manner of kit – from bargain basement toasters to top-of-the-line TVs.
“Shop Smart, Save Money – the right products at the right price to make life that little bit better” – Channel 5
Consumer journalists Georgie Barrat and Jon Bentley are on hand to check out cost-effective ways of living more sustainably and compare premium products to budget versions to see if there’s money to be saved. And money-saving expert Harry Wallop has the latest tips to make our money go that bit further. Households from across the nation also get involved, as they ask Gaby and Ortis to help find the perfect product to sort out their domestic dilemma before road-testing it in their own homes.
In the first episode which airs on Wednesday (February 28), Gaby and Ortis find ways to get the cost down of going to the cinema – from cheap tickets to ways to recreate the experience at home without a blockbuster price tag. Jon Bentley finds out if a budget or a premium dishwasher offers the best value.
Harry Wallop has all the insider money-saving tips you need to know when taking out home insurance, and we invite a group of parents, who spend weekends on the sidelines of football pitches, to road test three umbrellas to see which offers top performance, before finding out one of the UKs cheapest toasters is any good.
And we help the Smith Family who are in need of a lawnmower, after moving into a house with a bigger garden.
