Highways Festival has today revealed the second wave of details for the upcoming event at The Royal Albert Hall…
This latest announcement brings all the exciting new information about the additional curated showcase elements outside of the main auditorium such as Country for Kids, Songwriter’s Round, Late Night Specials and Official After Show Parties, and a brand-new photography exhibition. The festival takes place on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, 2024.
An attendee favourite from last year and a must-see for those looking for more intimate moments with some of the incredible talents on this year’s bill, The Songwriters Round will take place on Saturday afternoon. This event gives fans a glimpse into the intricate, personal preparation and unbelievable performance skills of each artist as they take turns performing some of their most loved tracks acoustically. Hosted by Absolute Radio Country, this year’s Songwriters Round will feature performances from Ben Earle, BOWEN * YOUNG, Catie Offerman, and Tanner Usrey. Doors open at 2pm, and the event runs from 2.30pm – 4.30pm.
Country for Kids is back again this year on the second day of festivities and will be hosted by Remember Monday, the UK’s viral sensation pop-country trio. This family-friendly event is the perfect opportunity for children to let loose and express themselves in a relaxed environment, with no expectation to stay still or be quiet. Recommended for ages 4-11, but babies and budding musicians of all ages are welcome! Doors open at 9.30am, and the event runs 10am – 11am.
After the action of the main auditorium concludes, the party is far from over! Attendees can keep the celebration going each night by heading to the Official After Show Party, located in the Arena Bars. Friday and Saturday nights’ antics will be soundtracked by the one and only Disko Cowboy, who is redefining urban cowboy culture through the unexpected mashup of streetwear, country music, and disco nightlife themes. The event runs 11pm – 12:30am – please note that tickets are only available to main auditorium ticketholders.
For those who just can’t get enough of the sweet sounds of Country and Americana, make your way over to the Late Night Special to cap each night off with one more exclusive live performance from two incredible homegrown talents. Friday’s special will be host to Kezia Gill, the Derby-born singer-songwriter who has captivated audiences with her soulful voice and skilled acoustic guitar playing, transcending genres and spellbinding audiences all over the world. Saturday’s entertainment will come from Remember Monday, one of the UK’s viral breakout pop-country sensations. The event runs 11.30pm-12:30am.
