Second Half Productions take the show to the West End with the transfer of the play.
This week the Almeida Theatre production of Sam Holcroft’s critically acclaimed new play A Mirror, opens its doors.
Following a sold-out run at the Almeida last year, A Mirror, which was nominated for Best New Play at the 2023 Evening Standard Awards, opens for a 13 week run at the Trafalgar Theatre.
Olivier Award-winner Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting; Elementary) and Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education; Scenes with Girls) reprise their roles as Čelik and Mei in the West End transfer, with BIFA Award-winner and BAFTA award-nominee Samuel Adewunmi (You Don’t Know Me; Trouble in Butetown) joining the production to make his West End debut as Adem. Geoffrey Streatfeild (Watch on the Rhine; Anatomy of a Scandal) also returns as Bax.
Set within a totalitarian state where a Ministry of Culture must approve all new works of art, a rebel group is staging an illegal play under the guise of a wedding. In this darkly funny political thriller everything is not as it seems… A Mirror is a powerful, timely and highly entertaining exploration of censorship, freedom of expression and the search for truth and love in a society that values neither.
A Mirror will run at the Trafalgar Theatre until 20 April 2024, with opening night on 1 February 2024. Tickets start at £20 with 10,000 seats available at £50 and under throughout the run. For further information visit: www.amirrorwestend.com
A Mirror is produced by Second Half Productions with co-producers the Almeida Theatre. The production is directed by Jeremy Herrin.
