Krista’s left upset in Neighbours

This week in Erinsborough…

M O N D A Y

Nicolette receives an unwelcome surprise when she spies Veronica at the jumble sale for Sonya’s Foundation, leaving her certain that Veronica is out to make her life a living hell. Worried that her shameful manipulation of Sasha is about to be made public, Nicolette turns to Paul for help. But before he can do anything, Veronica snatches Isla from the jumble sale, leaving Nicolette in a state of terror and distress.

Though Nicolette and Byron safely locate Isla, having been left by Veronica outside the police station, Byron urges Nicolette to realise that this situation has gone way too far. Even though she might hate it, it’s time for Nicolette to come clean, before Veronica does something worse…

Krista’s left upset after overhearing Leo’s assessment of her parenting capabilities, and Leo’s embarrassed when he learns Krista witnessed it firsthand. An apologetic Leo mends relations with Krista, explaining his overreaction as a consequence of having lost Britney in tragic circumstances and being ultra-protective of Abigail as a result. But when Leo accidentally calls Krista, Britney, Paul realises the true nature of their relationship. He suggests Leo sees Krista as a way to make up for his failings with Britney, which Leo immediately denies. However, when Paul warns Krista, she’s left shaken by the idea that Leo sees her as a project and that their friendship isn’t genuine.

Unnerved, she turns away from Leo and instead seeks support from Remi, admitting that she hasn’t been able to eat or drink anything since the spiking incident because she’s paranoid it’s going to happen again.

Aaron’s comically offended, when David offers to teach him a few cocktail flair, moves for his new job at The Waterhole, reminding David that he’s the one who taught him in the first place. The friendly banter over who’s the better mixologist results in an energetic cocktail-off in Number Twenty-Four, with the married couple in a friendly competition over who can do the most moves. By the contest’s end, the fun and frivolity (and alcohol) lead to Aaron and David getting hot and heavy in the kitchen, only to be walked in on by a mortified Jane. Erm… Sorry Jane…

In the wake of Paul’s mean-spirited ‘revelation’ regarding the reason for Leo’s interest in her, Krista attempts to put her feelings for Leo aside.

With David increasingly frustrated that Paul and Leo continue to cause stress for Krista, he confronts them both but is unsure of how effective his warnings will be. After their embarrassing incident with Jane, Aaron and David lament their lack of privacy in Number Twenty-Four. Aaron asks Leo if he would consider selling their old place back to them. Leo’s open to it and once Aaron gets David on board, they start to make plans to purchase their old home again.

After the scare with Veronica and Isla, Nicolette comes clean to Jane regarding the true reason for her break up with Kiri. Nicolette is painfully aware that once again, she’s the disappointment of the family.

Krista and Leo decide to give it a shot as a couple, agreeing to take it slow and keep it quiet. As Krista tries to settle into her new role at Lassiter’s, suggesting they rehire Byron as concierge, Paul refuses and pulls rank on her, leaving her disheartened. But Leo encourages her to listen to her own instincts and stand up to Paul. Off the back of his support, she hires Byron despite Paul’s disapproval, asserting herself to Paul and reminding him he’s done much worse than Byron in his time.

Shocked by the distribution of her personal images, and the alleged abduction of Isla, Nicolette and her family push for Veronica’s arrest. But with CCTV footage seeming to show Isla walking off of her own accord, and no fingerprints evident on the racy flyers, the police have nothing to charge Veronica with. With the facts unclear, Aaron, David and Jane start to doubt Nicolette’s claims in regards to her dealings with Veronica and Sasha, causing tension in the family. These doubts are only exacerbated with David bumps into Veronica at Harold’s and she provides him with documents that reflect very poorly on Nicolette. Feeling lost, Nicolette turns to the one person she feels she can trust… Paul.

In a funk and confronted by the sight of an affectionate Toadie and Terese, Melanie realises she needs to put herself out there again. If Toadie can find love again, why can’t she? She downloads a dating app and is quickly approached by a prospective match, who invites her out for a low-key dinner at the Tram. Nervous, she goes shopping for a new dress, and is pleasantly surprised when Nell shows up to help her get ready. But her date is a no-show, claiming he’s having tire trouble and will be there soon. She gives him the benefit of the doubt and waits around until it’s very clear he’s not going to show up. But when she goes to walk home in the dark things take an unexpected turn.

On a late-night walk with Trevor, Haz and Mackenzie come across Melanie being tormented by the hooligans. When Melanie starts shouting back, she cops a face full of liquid muck and cruel laughter, leaving her humiliated and in despair. While Mackenzie is determined to unleash the full force of the law on the hooligans, Melanie doesn’t want to report the incident, nor does she want anyone to know about it.

The next morning, Melanie’s resolve softens and she’s about to open up to kind-hearted Karl about the ordeal but changes course when Nell bursts through the door excited to hear about the date. Pretending to Nell that all went well, Melanie doubles down on her earlier decision to tell no one – she desperately doesn’t want to be a victim or object of more pity. Later, Toadie is privately less than enthused when Nell reports positive news on Melanie’s dating experience. Meanwhile, an overwhelmed Melanie makes a decision.

Haz and Mackenzie pull together to support Melanie and feeling the warmth, Mackenzie broaches another conversation with him on their feelings. Although the URST (un-resolved sexual tension) is simmering, Haz chickens out, thinking Holly proved to him he’s not ready for a relationship, and he’d hate to ruin his friendship with Mackenzie. Covering her chagrin, Mackenzie concurs she’s not ready either, leaving Haz privately disappointed too.

Cara and Remi’s dinner with Aaron and David is interrupted by a surprise visitor … Cara’s sister, Chelsea. While Cara is thrilled, Remi’s enthusiasm is much more tempered. Holding court, a charming Chelsea quickly wins over David and Aaron and talks up her excitement over reconnecting with her family. She’s also lined up meetings to pitch her new fragrance line to Melbourne retailers while she’s in town. The next morning, Remi is miffed to hear that Chelsea has been giving JJ pointers on how to win over his crush Sadie and is left feeling on the outer when Cara doesn’t back up her concerns.

Remi’s frustrations grow when she comes across Chelsea catching up with David and Aaron – feeling as though her sister-in-law is inserting herself into all aspects of her life. When a frustrated Remi vents that she thinks Cara’s a different person around Chelsea, Cara points out how much it means to her to have time with her sister – and it won’t be forever. Later Cara is moved to learn that Chelsea is thinking about a permanent move to the area to spend more time with her. Cara is full of hopeful anticipation, unaware as Chelsea fires up a secret folder on her laptop with information about the Robinson family.
