Thursday in Summer Bay…
Zara is still in town and Rose has noticed – “She’s not exactly subtle” she says of Mali’s promised wife. Nonetheless, Rose plays it cool. She doesn’t fully understand the Mali/Zara dynamic but doesn’t want it to “become a thing”. When they meet for date night later, both are shocked when Zara crashes their evening. Zara swears her intentions are good – she feels bad for making things difficult between them and wants to shout them dinner – and suddenly Rose’s date night is looking like a dinner for three!
The next day, Xander plays protective big brother and confronts Zara. He knows what she’s up to, and Rose and Mali deserve their own space. When Rose tries to speak her peace with Zara, she’s shut down by an anti-cop slam and Rose is at capacity, giving Mali an ultimatum – “It’s me or her”.
When Felicity is called home from Salt for a romantic meal with Tane, the topic of kids is still on his mind. Guilty over the ongoing lie that she’s trying to conceive, Felicity bristles when Tane polices her drinking – “I’m not pregnant yet”. But Tane’s excitement is palpable – he can’t wait for fatherhood, and when Felicity tries to curb his expectations, it just doesn’t hit. “I know how much this means to you” she offers, preparing to let him down. His response stops her dead in her tracks though – “Yeah, everything”.
Roo discovers Alf is on his way back to the Bay and summons Marilyn home. Marilyn is floored when Roo lays out her expectations – She demands Marilyn must falsify it was her own decision to move out. Can Marilyn lie to Alf? And will she lie for Roo?
