Best ‘Sunday afternoon Movies’ to relax with…

With temperatures continuing to drop across the country, researchers asked a wide selection of British families, to vote for their favourite films to snuggle up to, after a Sunday roast – with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone coming top, with 17 percent of the vote.

Handsome but rugged archaeologist Indiana Jones came second in the poll, with the Temple of Doom (16 percent), while in third place was the iconic 1978 teen musical, Grease (15 percent). Other classic movies to make the list of family favourites include The Great Escape (9 percent), Uncle Buck (10 percent) and The Sound of Music (12 percent)

The survey also revealed the elements of the perfect Sunday, according to Brits, with a home-cooked roast at 2pm a must for 53 percent. 64 percent said it was not Sunday unless you’re snoozing on the sofa with a good film on in the background.

Reading the papers (15 percent), wintery Sunday walks (29 percent) and a pint down your local (14 percent) also made the list of Sunday essentials. As many as 43 percent said weekends are cosier in the cooler months, and 16 percent enjoy staying on the sofa all day when it’s cold outside. 83 percent agree autumn and winter are beautiful in the UK, with the perfect temp for the house emerging as a cosy 20.6C.

A spokesperson for Hello Hydrogen, who commissioned the survey commented:

“With the weather having turned and Christmas fast approaching, it’s clear that us Brits are winter-ready. The colder months are the perfect time to put the heating on, get a Sunday roast on, and to cuddle up on the sofa with a good film. We want to make sure every home in the UK can stay warm and cosy, while also cutting our carbon emissions and working towards greener home energy. Hydrogen for home heating can make this a reality – fuss-free energy for a greener tomorrow.”
