Toxic stinks were washed away for sparkles and glitter on This Morning today.
Today’s This Morning saw Josie Gibson return to host the long-running magazine show for the first time since being in the jungle. Continuing the celebrations in the studio, Josie and Craig Doyle were joined by Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing winners Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, plus Josie’s former campmate and I’m a Celeb winner Sam Thompson.
During their first TV interview since winning the glitterball trophy, Josie asked Ellie and Vito if there was any truth in the romance rumours between them. Ellie said, “Honestly we’ve just been having the most amazing time dancing. We’ve built a really strong bond and a friendship that will last forever.”
Vito turned to Ellie and said, “I wanted to say the word bond. We had a good bond. You see a person and connect with the person straight away.” He added, “I’m a first impression person and when we met, straight away we had this feeling that we’ve known each other a long time.”
Turning back to Ellie, he gushed, “I’m so, so lucky to have you.”
Craig commented that there was “100 per cent” a romance between them and they both laughed and said, “No, no!” Ellie told of how the two of them have been “through so much together.”

“We’ve spent every day together for the past three months, so we’re really, really lucky to have that bond that we’ve got and we’ll be friends for life” she explained. Earlier in the show, Ellie showed off the glitterball and said, “This is mine. It’s not the [official] glitterball, but we got our own little one and it’s really, really cute. I can’t believe I’m holding it.”
On their Strictly win on Saturday night, Ellie revealed, “I was genuinely speechless” and then she turned to Vito and said, “And the fact you were crying!” Vito replied, “I was crying so much.” Ellie continued, “We were just so, so grateful and couldn’t believe it. To be in the final was incredible… It was amazing…. It still feels like it’s never going to feel real that we’ve won.”
Ellie shared what life has been like since being crowned winners. She revealed, “Yesterday when I woke up, I was like, ‘What is going on?’ Then I lay in bed all day and then went for tea with my family and this morning when I woke up, it was like, ‘We don’t have training anymore.'” Vito said, “I’ve eaten so much, all day, so much chocolate. Everything I had in the fridge… it’s empty, I ate all day!”
Another show winner on today’s This Morning was I’m a Celeb… Jungle King and Josie’s campmate Sam Thompson, who opened up on his ADHD diagnosis. Craig asked what it was like opening up about his diagnosis on TV and he said, “I didn’t realise it would be shown. Marvin [Humes] asked me about it. I never want to impose what I’ve got on other people, I’m a very lucky person, but everyone in there was so intrigued by it and I thought that was so awesome.”

He continued, “But I did think before I went in, since I’ve had my diagnosis, I’m a lot more aware of energy and other people maybe aren’t the same as me and that’s not mine or their fault. If people need to take a moment to themselves, that’s fine.”
On reuniting with his girlfriend Zara McDermott at the airport, Sam said, “I didn’t even think she was going to be there. Because she had all these Strictly rehearsals and they were doing the Christmas special. I genuinely thought I was going to do a backdoor exit, get in a cab, go home and turn the playstation on and she was there with balloons and everything at the airport.
“It was one of the most amazing moments, I was so, so grateful. I wake up most moments thinking how lucky I am but in that one moment, I was like, ‘Wow, that is the sweetest thing. I think she might have got into a bit of trouble from her show turning up.”
