Channel 5 has commissioned a second series of The World’s Greatest Discoveries With Dan Snow.
Dan Snow:
“It has been the greatest adventure of my life visiting THE most remarkable and famous archaeological sites on earth for Channel 5. From Asia to South America I have been lucky enough to see sites I dreamed about as a child. I didn’t just explore them, but also their rich stories of discovery. It’s been a once in a lifetime experience.”
Historian, Dan Snow will host the four part series, which sees each edition airing in a 90-minute slot. This strand of film specials takes Dan on a great adventure, exploring four of the most fascinating and mysterious archaeological finds: Stonehenge, Atlantis, the Terracotta Army and Machu Picchu.
In each programme, Dan explores the incredible story of these amazing finds; from the breath-taking high-altitude moment of discovery of Machu Picchu to diving underwater in search of the origins of the story of Atlantis.
Lucy Willis, Commissioning Editor Channel 5 and Paramount+:
“Dan is an amazing story teller and the perfect choice to guide us through some of the greatest discoveries in history. He’s got that rare ability to transport us back in time and help us really feel what it would have been like to be living in Peru under the Inca’s or helping to build the incredible Stonehenge. In the first series, Dan explored the Valley of the Kings, Pompeii. I’m very excited to welcome Dan back, to take part in another set of fantastic adventures for us, revealing the stories behind these great mysteries.”
