Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks this week announced that, in April 2024, they will be taking their podcast, Staying Relevant on tour across the UK.
London, Manchester, Cardiff, Newcastle and Glasgow are the cities they will spend an evening with fans in. Listeners will get the chance to join Sam and Pete in their weekly quest for fame as they continue to explore what it really takes to stay relevant.
During the show, as well as learning first-hand about the perils and pitfalls of fame from two best friends in the industry, there will be plenty of interactive moments including a new spin-off from the podcast’s popular ‘Sidebar of Shame’ called ‘The Seat Of Shame’, giving members of the audience a chance to go on stage to share their own ‘Seat Of Shame’ moment.
After countless conversations about what it really takes to maintain fame for the long run, Staying Relevant was launched by Pete and Sam in 2022. The award-nominated podcast has recently celebrated over 5 million downloads and has hit (and held) the coveted No.#1 Comedy chart spot on numerous occasions.
Sam Thompson is a television presenter and broadcaster who rose to fame on E4’s Made In Chelsea. He has since appeared on several other high-profile TV shows including Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins, as well as presenting ITV2’s Love Island After Sun alongside Maya Jama and Indiyah Polack. 2023 saw Sam release his debut documentary, Sam Thompson: Is This ADHD? (E4). He also landed his own regular show on Hits Radio. And of course last week Sam was in the Australian jungle with ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! which saw him titled King of the Jungle.
Pete Wicks first appeared our screens in 2015 on The Only Way Is Essex (ITV). He has since been a favourite on shows such as the Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls (Channel 4), Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins (Channel 4) and E4’s Celebs Go Dating. Pete’s latest accolade saw him this week taking part in The Real Full Monty on ITV1 / STV this December in a bid to raise awareness for life-saving cancer checks.
So, the venues are booked, the fridge is stocked with beer (for Pete) and Peperami (for Sam), and the format has been carefully planned… on the back of a napkin. Expect plenty of laughs but mostly utter chaos as the boys look back at their careers and share their hopes and dreams for a future of superstardom.
