An edition of ATV’s Look Around focuses on Midland nightlife.
From businessmen at a hotel who claim Birmingham is not a city as a place to entertain business customers to the owner of a private club talking about their clientele this report looks at the lack, to some, of any decent nightlife in the area.
We then see a cabaret club in Edgbaston where compere Roy Edwards introduces a comedian who performs a cowboy routine which includes firing a gun. The club also brings entertainment to the stage via a female jazz singer.
While in Stratford upon Avon Lionel Hampden talks to members of the Royal Shakespeare Company about the availability of after-theatre drinking and nightlife. Lionel talks to Diana Rigg, Bill Travers, Tony Jay, and Paul Hardwick. He also talks to a pub landlord about serving food and the licensing laws.
The report also features footage recorded at The Duke of Marlborough, an Egyptian-themed nightclub, views of ten-pin bowling at a Top Rank alley, diners at the Chateau de l’Aperifit on Wilford Lane at West Bridgford and a strip club with women on stage dance in bikinis with ostrich feathers.
