West Ham United’s central midfielder James Ward-Prowse yesterday shared his support for Loose Men’s first-ever campaign Half-Time Team Talk – which will launch during a special show later today.
The all-male panel show will return to screens this afternoon (17th November) at 12.30 pm on ITV1, STV, STV Player and ITVX, ahead of International Men’s Day, with footballing legend – and former West Ham manager – Harry Redknapp making his debut alongside Vernon Kay, Ronan Keating and Ore Oduba.
Kicking off the critical campaign, aiming to make talking about our mental health a regular fixture, viewers can expect honest, heartfelt and personal stories from the panel, as well as an inspiring visit to West Ham United’s home ground, London Stadium, with former West Ham youth team player and ‘Loose Man‘ Mark Wright.
In an exclusively recorded clip ahead of the Loose Men special, premier league player James says: “West Ham United supports Half-Time Team Talk. Let’s unite over our troubles and open up about what’s playing on our minds, to tackle the stigma around male mental health.”
Encouraging others to join James and West Ham in supporting Loose Men’s Half-Time Team Talk campaign, lifelong Hammers fan Mark will speak to former players Carlton Cole and Anton Ferdinand, brother of Rio Ferdinand, about their own experiences of mental health and tackling the taboo around men opening up to one another.
Mark will also speak to another loyal West Ham fan, Alice Hendy, who set up R;pple Suicide Prevention after losing her only sibling Josh, to suicide at just 21 years of age. In a display of unity during filming, West Ham also displayed Loose Men‘s personalised Half-Time Team Talk shirt in the locker room and projected the Half-Time Team Talk logo on screens across the ground.
Entering the footballing arena, Loose Men‘s inaugural Half-Time Team Talk, supported by mental health charity Mind, will encourage fans of the game to check on each other whilst in the stands and have their own vital team talks at half-time – whilst their favourite teams are doing the same.
Loose Men airs Friday 17th November from 12:30pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX and the STV Player
