Today in Summer Bay in the series finale…
Eden and Remi are shirking Kirby’s solo launch, but they’re both filled with guilt for not supporting their friend. Meanwhile Kirby is about to step on stage, but it all feels wrong. Forrest is reassuring, and the show must go on. As she begins, Eden and Remi enter the room, and this fills Kirby with a newfound confidence. Following a stellar show, Forrest pulls Kirby away from her friends to give interviews, but Kirby refuses to do them. None of this is her. Being a solo artist doesn’t feel right, and she wants to go back to Lyrik. Forrest is fierce and threatens she must fulfil the contract she signed or face a world of trouble. While celebrating later, Kirby explains to her former bandmates she wants to come back to Lyrik. Eden and Theo are over the moon, but Remi scoffs bitterly. As far as he’s concerned, Lyrik is dead.
John persuades Irene to help organise the presentation for Alf and is quick to offload every responsibility he can. But his reasoning is not purely selfish. If Irene is kept busy, she won’t be stuck worrying about the uncertainty of her status around the Dana case. The next morning, all her questions are suddenly answered when Constable Rose Delaney arrives at the diner, not for coffees, but to place Irene Roberts under arrest.
Leah and Justin’s plight in the abandoned warehouse is dire as Leah carefully removes the weight of debris from Justin’s chest, and he struggles to breath. Realising that time is more precious than ever, Leah pieces together a new plan for escape, ready to climb the walls. But before she attempts her escape, she holds him perhaps for the last time, and through tears speaks from the heart… Justin Morgan, will you marry me?
