Fifth-form pupils from Binley Park Comprehensive School in Coventry created a factory environment by manning a production line producing Christmas crackers.
Margaret Hounsell interviewed the course master, David Shapcott, about the children’s reactions to this type of work which is self-supporting because the children are being paid and the crackers sold.
He adds that they now know that they will be bored at work as well as at school. A brief interview with a schoolgirl about her opinion of factory work also features in this news item.
