Today in Summer Bay…
Bree pleads with Remi to stay and talk it out, but he roars off on his motorcycle in frustration. As usual, John is on hand to give unsolicited advice – stop dwelling on what you should have done and start thinking about what you need to do next. Bree opens up – she can tell Remi is pushing down a lot of anger, and she doesn’t know how to help manage it. John is sympathetic, finding Remi later and offering further sage counsel: Go and be with the woman who loves you. The couple repair, and Remi clarifies that he does want her to stay, and she will. But she warns him – if the issues with Kirby and Lyrik are making him this bitter, he needs to do something about it.
Justin is making the most of a Marilyn-free home, particularly enjoying a spike in intimacy with Leah. Much to his disappointment, Leah answers a call from Marilyn and Justin knows immediately it’s bad news for him. And he’s right – Roo is hiring a private nurse and Marilyn is moving back into the Morgan House. Petty grievances aside, Justin knows Leah has done the right thing. “You’re a better friend than I am”, he tells her.
Mali’s at the board shop when he encounters a blast from the past – “It’s been too long” says Zara. The two reminisce over their shared childhood and Zara is heavily entwined with Mali’s family. However, a curious Xander is in for a shock when she introduces herself – “I’m Mali’s promised wife”. Mali tries to describe the cultural tradition from his and Zara’s community to Xander. Xander admittedly doesn’t get it, but more importantly, how is his sister, Mali’s current girlfriend, going to handle it?
