Joss Stone joins Change + Check choir

Joss Stone will be joining the 2023 Change + Check choir on their debut single ‘Golden’.

Collaborating with 24 women who found their breast cancer after seeing the Change + Check campaign on the show, Joss Stone will now sing alongside the ladies for the charity single which aims to raise money and awareness for the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

Lorraine’s Change + Check campaign focuses on raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, with advice on how to check your breasts and what changes to look out for. The campaign appears on posters in changing rooms across the UK – with supporting brands having included John Lewis and Partners, Pour Moi, ASDA, Warehouse, David Lloyd Gyms and the Metropolitan Police.

Lorraine producer Helen Addis shared, “I’m very excited to say that the person headlining on this [single] is going to be none other than Joss Stone! And I’ve got to say, I’m very excited that I can finally do that. And you never know, this could go to number one now, she’s got an incredible voice!”

Explaining exactly how Helen managed to get Joss on the track she said, “Well, she was in as a guest about two weeks ago. I walked past the dressing room and I thought, ‘If you don’t ask, you don’t get’, so I went and I knocked on her door and I introduced myself as ‘The Titty Gritty’!

“And she sort of looked at me a bit like, ‘Who are you? Are you allowed to be in here?’ And then when I explained the story, she said, ‘Absolutely, absolutely, I’d love to do it.’

“And it turns out actually, that she has a cousin who’s been through breast cancer at the same time as me. So yeah, she says, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it! I’ll do it for my cousin. I’ll do it for you guys.'”

Net profits from downloads of the single ‘Golden’ will be going to breast cancer charity Future Dreams. To date, the campaign has helped over 66 women to detect and therefore get treated for breast cancer.
