Madonna has shortened to 4/7 with William Hill to headline 2024’s Glastonbury Festival, following a successful launch of her new Celebration Tour in London at the weekend.
The 80s pop icon is fancied to be the feature artist at the Pyramid Stage on any night of next year’s festival and is currently third in the market behind Dua Lipa at 1/3 and Coldplay at 2/5. Also in contention to headline the stage are Foo Fighters and Olivia Rodrigo at 5/1, Rihanna and the Spice Girls at 6/1, with Bruce Springsteen, Harry Styles and Depeche Mode all priced at 7/1.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps:
“At 65 years old, Madonna remains as revered and popular as ever and is a natural candidate to headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury next year, so we’ve had to shorten her price to 4/7 from 5/4 following yesterday’s sensational opening night to her Celebration Tour. Dua Lipa may be the current favourite at 1/3, with Coldplay close behind at 2/5, but Madonna’s appeal has been evergreen since her first album in 1983, and her price could yet get shorter.”
Madonna kicked off her massive The Celebration World Tour with the two of six sold-out shows in London, at The O2 on Saturday and Sunday night. Directed by long-time collaborator Jamie King and the musical direction of Stuart Price; songs included “Nothing Really Matters,” “Open Your Heart,” “Like A Prayer,” Into The Groove” and “Crazy For You.”
Known for her ground-breaking tours; The Celebration Tour is no different. As usual, the best-selling female artist of all time leaves no detail overlooked. This non-stop, fearless performance features mesmerising choreography, bold costumes and her most elaborate stage to date designed by Stufish. The colossal 78-date tour, produced by Live Nation, will move across Europe before landing in Madonna’s adopted hometown of New York City in December to begin the North American leg.
