The night of Friday, October 13th 2023, will forever be etched in the memories of ‘Corrie’ fans with 120 lucky ticket holders taking deep breaths before coming face to face with one of Weatherfield’s most notorious villains, ‘Stephen Reid’ over in the new ‘Coronation Street Experience’.

As ITV1 and STV viewers sat down to watch in their living rooms, the lucky gathered took their seats – and their chances – to watch Stephen’s last episodes with him right next to them in the room.

A week of Coronation Street episodes came to a climax as evil killer Stephen left the show in a body bag, whilst viewers discovered cabby Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) could still be alive. As a desperate Stephen was cornered in the Rovers by partner Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) and niece Sarah (Tina O’Brien) we saw him bash Sarah over the head with a bottle.

A final showdown with Jenny then led to him holding her hostage during his bid to escape before being mown down in a car by Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), moments after he’d set Jenny free.

Then as the audience was still reeling from the shock of Stephen’s death, with mum Audrey (Sue Nicholls) crouched over him, another bombshell was dropped as Tim, who’d been attacked by Stephen earlier in the week and his lifeless body dumped in the boot of his taxi, opened his eyes!

An hour later, at the Coronation Street Experience event, having survived his ‘kill’ list, everybody breathed a sigh of relief as the titles rolled leaving actor Todd Boyce to take over with a Q & A session led by ITV’s Sharon Marshall. Giving everybody the chance to ask questions about the episodes and what it’s like to be Corrie’s latest bad boy, the room got riotous and proved an unforgettable evening of suspense, drama and unique exclusive insights into the world of their favourite soap.

When the drama resumes on Monday viewers will wait to see if anyone can reach a battered and dehydrated Tim in time as he fights for his life, while DS Swain (Vicky Myers) steps up her investigation into the goings on in Weatherfield, wondering if the crash was in fact a premeditated killing by Peter.
