Pick of the Plots: Tuesday 29th August

George is stunned to see Cindy, but he soon hardens to learn she had no knowledge that he or the girls were in the Square, and she didn’t return for them.

Cindy questions George on their daughters’ whereabouts but he lies that they are both in Spain. Wanting to protect Gina and Anna, George takes Cindy to the barrel store where he demands answers.

Later, Linda interrupts their clandestine chat and has a go at George for his selfishness considering all the hard work Elaine has put in for Anna’s party. Realising her daughters are inches away, Cindy rushes into the bar and comes face-to-face with Anna and Gina as well as the residents of Walford…

Meanwhile, Ian seeks solace in the laundrette. Peter heads to his dad’s side and soon realises the real reason his dad didn’t want Cindy to return to the Square.

Despite his dad’s feelings, Peter heads to The Vic to celebrate Anna’s birthday but it’s not long before Ian arrives looking for Cindy and he bumps in to Sharon and Phil, who are shocked to see him.

Jai arrives to collect the necklace, but it has gone missing. Manpreet is immediately suspicious of Victor and when he’s accused, he’s defensive.

Assured that her husband is innocent, Claudette is horrified to find the necklace in Victor’s pocket.

Meanwhile, Corey is incredulous that Nate has taken his position of manager and is demanding the illegal jobs come to a stop.

Elsewhere, Charity accepts Gail’s dare to proposition the next person who enters The Woolpack. Her eyes soon alight on a slightly terrified Liam, who is booked for a date.

Emmerdale, ITV1, tonight at 7.30pm

Jack tries to advise Darren on how to handle Charlie’s recent behaviour. Pearl tells Darren that he needs to set boundaries with Charlie, but when Darren can’t find a way to get through to the teenager, he starts blaming himself.  Upstairs, Charlie’s anxiety and self-doubts grow.

Meanwhile, Ethan and Sienna try to spend some romantic time together in The Loft, but when Norma turns up, it’s cut short. Norma teases Ethan about moving on from Sienna, leaving him and a hidden Sienna with some thoughts to process.

Elsewhere, Mercedes waits with an unconscious Felix while Warren tries to find Sharon for help. Felix comes around and they wait for Sharon to meet them at the garage.

Mercedes begs Felix to stop fighting, but he refuses. Struggling over what to do to save the man she loves from anymore danger; Mercedes walks out on him.
