Lucy Allan, Hollyoaks‘ executive producer for the past two and a half years, has decided to leave the show.

During her time in the role, she has overseen a number of important and hard-hitting storylines, including the exploits of incel Eric and “The Long Walk Home” episode that dealt with women’s safety.

Of leaving, she notes:

“I have loved my time as executive producer on Hollyoaks. It’s one of the most exciting jobs in Soapland but after two and half years at the helm it’s time to pass on the baton.”

She first worked on Hollyoaks in the late noughties as deputy producer, before becoming series producer in 2009. She was succeeded by Paul Marquess in January 2010. She also worked as a producer on the spin-offs Hollyoaks: No Going Back and Hollyoaks Later.

In early 2021, she returned to Lime Pictures as its Head Of Continuing Drama and Executive Producer of Hollyoaks, replacing Bryan Kirkwood.

Managing directors of Lime Pictures, Kate Little and Claire Poyser said:

“We would like to thank Lucy for everything she has done for Hollyoaks, leading the programme through Covid and its aftermath, forging a ground-breaking partnership with the BBC and Eurovision and delivering unforgettable, critically acclaimed storylines such as Misbah’s Rape and The Long Walk Home. We will miss her but wish her all the very best in her next adventure.”

Hollyoaks airs Monday-Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a first look episode at 7pm on E4.
