Studies reveal that on average within 42 minutes and 29 seconds of a first date, most people know whether they would progress to a second date or not, proving that the first impression really does count. Recently, many are relying on green, red and beige flags as a cheat code for compatibility.
It is easy to spot the red flags when dating, but what about the green? Green flags are a sign of healthy behaviours that give you clarity on whether your partner is a right fit for you. Knowing what to look out for when on a first date is a good shortcut to finding the one.
But what are the most common green flags? Interested to find out, BonusFinder surveyed over 2,000 Brits to uncover some of the top green flags with almost two-thirds (60%) who took part in the poll declaring that being an attentive listener is the best green flag while in second place, 47% of people believe offering to pay for the bill is a green flag.
Meanwhile, in third place being proactive and putting in the effort is a turn-on for many, with 43% of people declaring organising dates a green flag and the way to their hearts.
Taking fourth place is having a shared sense of humour, for 39% of the UK there’s nothing worse than cracking a joke and hearing crickets. Meanwhile, fifth place goes to those who are spontaneous, whether it’s booking flights on a whim or never knowing where the night may take you, 35% of the UK label it a green flag. Other green flags that didn’t make the top 15 include, sticking to plans and being on time with 12% of votes, being a gamer with 7% and not being judgemental with 6%.
