Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 2nd August

Bobby helps Freddie set up a clandestine meeting with his dad, Graham, as he pretends to test drive one of his cars. Overwhelmed at being face to face with his dad, Freddie soon reveals his true identity.

Kat, Billy and Alfie frantically try to track down Freddie. Bobby reluctantly reveals his location under the pressure of Kat’s interrogation.

Elsewhere, Elaine hatches a plan to get Gina and Anna to step up for their dad by offering £50 to the winner who gives out the most promotional flyers in an attempt to steal customers from The Albert for the Women’s World Cup.

Whilst dropping off leaflets at the car lot, Gina and Jay have a heart-to-heart and the pair put their awkward encounter from the night before behind them. Gina is later rattled when Anna brings up their mum again.

Sarah calls in to see Adam, insisting they need to talk. She’s desperate to save her marriage. As Adam rails at Sarah for all the lies, she’s suddenly hit with stomach pain.

Seeing Sarah getting into a taxi to take herself to hospital, Maria tells Adam. Horrified, as he thought she was faking her pain, Adam goes after her. In the hospital, a terrified Sarah awaits news.

Meanwhile, Jenny confides in Owen that The Rovers is struggling financially. When Owen suggests she should sell up, Jenny is annoyed. Stephen suggests that rather than increasing prices, she should reduce portion sizes. How will the new hot pots go down with the regulars?

Later, there’s a loud bang from the kitchen and the lights go out.

Elsewhere, Aadi notices that the picture of him and Asha has moved and now faces the picture of his mum. Bernie puts it down to the presence of Sunita’s spirit, whilst Dev refuses to entertain the idea.

Also, Daniel and Daisy are excited when Ed tells them the builder’s yard flat is available.

As the Lomax house burns, Joel spits the fire and calls for help, before saving Donna-Marie. At the hospital, Sharon urges Joel to talk to Leela about his recent diagnosis.

Donna-Marie is treated in hospital for smoke inhalation and tries to explain her relapse. Joel gives Leela an ultimatum – she needs to choose between Donna-Marie or him.

Meanwhile, Maxine gets an appointment for aesthetics for her scar. Scott and Maxine clash as he fails to understand her predicament. Later, Maxine meets a medic and then asks Beau on a date.

Elsewhere, Mercedes and Felix seem happy together, but Warren worries that Felix is hiding things from her.

Also, Hunter helps Freya with her art and confides in her about his own past.
