Leycett was a mining village that was abandoned when the pit closed in the late 1950s. When ATV Today visited the village the only building still standing was the school. Greg Barnes report from the former village, near Newcastle-under-Lyme, where now the final remnant of the place is closing for good.
The report shows the deserted and demolished village of Leycett including view of the spoil heap left from the disused colliery. Greg speaks to headteacher Ken Platt and his wife. The footage also features the children leaving Woodlands School for the final time.
