Marilyn wants to speak out in Home and Away

This week in Summer Bay…

MONDAY

Unaware that Andrew’s “mother” is an imposter, Justin is confident that he and Leah did the right thing by letting him go.

Cash meanwhile has received a reprimand at work over his lapse in judgement and prepares to update Justin, convinced that Andrew’s captor must be linked to Vita Nova. When Cash finally breaks the news, Justin is predictably distraught and lays the blame squarely on Cash. Justin regrets losing his temper at Cash, while Cash confirms “Esther’s” real identity – Margot Dafoe, the leader of Vita Nova.

When he updates Justin, Justin apologises for losing his cool, and Cash implores Justin to help him in the search for Margot and Andrew. Even though Cash has been kicked off the case he’s determined to make things right, and he’s far more likely to succeed with Justin’s help than without. John has picked up on the fact that something’s bothering Marilyn, but she continues to cover her fear following the recent threats against her.

When a customer at the coffee cart watches her, her paranoia is palpable, and John demands answers after he catches her in a lie to Alf. When Marilyn follows up with Rose over the investigation into the threat, Rose tells her she’s no closer to finding the culprit and Marilyn is left feeling even more vulnerable. She finally confides in John over what’s been going on, but they are interrupted when a brick is thrown through the window at Irene’s with a message attached – “No more interviews, or else”.

TUESDAY

Cash and Justin have reached a dead end in the search for Margot and Andrew.

When Eden and Felicity praise Cash as a “hero” later on, his guilt wears away at him, and though Rose covertly updates him that the taskforce have found an address, his frustrations boil over when she refuses to share it with him. At the Vita Nova compound, Margot lectures Andrew on avoiding the temptations of the outside world. Insisting that Vita Nova are a family and are only as strong as their weakest link, she torments Andrew by playing metal music at high volume while he’s locked in an inhospitable cell. “This is for you”, she menaces. “This will make you strong!”.

After Cash goes rogue and secures the address for himself, Justin and Cash front up at the compound and confront Margot themselves, and Justin demands to see Andrew. Margot happily obliges and Justin breaks the news that they’ve found his sister, imploring him to leave. But a brainwashed Andrew insists he’s happy where he is – he’s staying on the compound. Marilyn remains shaken after the continued threats against her, and when she hears a noise in the night, she arms herself with a frypan, giving a returning Irene a nasty shock!

While Irene quizzes Marilyn over her boarded-up window, Roo arrives to offer her support, having heard about Maz’s predicament from a concerned John. Marilyn is pleased to have her friends’ support, but insists they continue to hide her problems from Alf, determined that he leave to visit Martha as planned.

WEDNESDAY

Marilyn is undecided on whether to give a follow-up interview to a national newspaper over the Stunning Organics saga. She doesn’t want to let anyone down, but Roo and Irene urge her to put her safety first – she doesn’t owe anyone anything. Later though, Marilyn’s friends are shocked to learn she’s done a complete one-eighty. She’s sick of being bullied by Stunning Organics and she’s determined to give a voice to their other victims: her voice.

Roo admits to Marilyn she’s proud of her, but danger may still be lurking as an unknown person photographs them on the beach… Justin brings Theo up to speed on the Andrew situation and Theo blames himself – he was the one who put the post up that attracted Vita Nova.

Plagued with guilt, Theo lets himself into Cash’s house and steals a snap of the Vita Nova address. When Felicity reports his strange behaviour to Justin, Justin intervenes to stop Theo doing something stupid. When Justin clocks that Theo is ignoring Kirby’s calls, Theo admits they haven’t seen eye to eye for a while. Later on, he reaches out to Kirby – “I think we need to talk”. Kate comes looking for Xander at Salt – she can’t accept the cheque he left under her door.

She doesn’t want the money. Xander urges Kate to save the money for Timothy then, but again she declines. She insists to Xander the only thing she and Timothy need is Jamie back, and overwhelmed by her loss, she sadly breaks down. When they share memories of Jamie later on, it’s cathartic for them both, but when he again tries to offer her the money, she reels. She doesn’t want his charity, and she doesn’t want his guilt money: Jamie is dead and Xander is alive, and nothing can make that fair

THURSDAY

Kate returns to Salt to see Xander – she regrets leaving things the way they did and asks if they can talk.

Chatting about their shared loss, Kate thanks Xander for his kindness, and for being a good friend to Jamie. They take genuine comfort in each other’s company. Kirby is not happy with Theo after he ghosted her at the Battle of the Bands recce, and the tension between them is fraught when they meet up to talk. With Kirby feeling that Theo is prioritising Andrew over her and the band, and Theo not understanding her bad mood, the warring couple agree to spend the night apart. The next morning, Theo approaches Kirby at work and suggests a longer-term break, and an enraged Kirby tells Theo not to bother with a break – they’re over for good.

Mali is back from seeing family and Rose is surprised to take a call from his sister Elandra – she’s apologising for her idiot brother messing things up between them. Apparently, Mali still likes her and regrets his mistake. It changes nothing though, she tells Xander. Mali put her in the “friend zone” and hasn’t shown any interest since. Neither seem to be able to stop talking about the other though, and after Rose confides in Xander, he quickly spills the beans to Mali that Elandra has interfered. When he arrives at Rose’s later, their connection is clear, and both lean in for a kiss, just as a distraught Kirby storms in and announces she and Theo are over!

Remi is buzzing after the Battle of the Bands recce, but clocks that Bree is not that engaged. She admits that she lost a patient that day and Remi instantly feels terrible for taking up too much space with the band talk. They agree that they’re from different worlds and to keep that in mind, and both are content in their relationship.
