Lin Blakley joins the cast of Emmerdale

Emmerdale bosses have recast the role of Georgia Sharma.

The role was previously played by The Bill legend Trudie Goodwin, but will now be played by Lin Blakey, who is well known to soap fans for her role as Pam Coker on EastEnders.

Georgia will be back to “ruffle feathers” on the eve of her son Jai’s wedding to Laurel.

Lin Blakley commented:

“How lucky am I to play such a strong character as Georgia. So different from roles I’ve played of late. I have enjoyed every single minute. Gorgeous cast and crew!! And the gorgeous Dales. Thank you Emmerdale.”

Known for speaking her mind, both her ex-husband Rishi, played by Bhasker Patel, and the soon to be married couple Laurel, played by Charlotte Bellamy and Jai, played by Chris Bisson are instantly at the mercy of Georgia’s harsh opinions.

With the wedding day looming and the rift between Rishi and Jai showing no signs of abating, will Georgia be able to heal this fractured family?

Producer Kate Brooks said:

Emmerdale airs Monday-Friday at 7.30pm on ITV1 and STV
