Sky News to reconstruct Prince Harry’s courtroom evidence

In a series of special programmes this week, Sky News will reconstruct key parts of Prince Harry’s courtroom evidence, as he aims to prove that papers published by MGN (Mirror Group Newspapers) wrote stories about him using illegally obtained information.

Each night at 9pm, Jonathan Samuels will present ‘Harry in Court’, where an actor will voice significant moments from the Prince’s evidence, which is expected to be explosive.

The Duke of Sussex will become the first senior member of the royal family to be called to the witness box since 1891 when he appears in London’s High Court this week. He is part of a group of 100 celebrities who are accusing the publisher’s titles of accessing private information by widespread phone-hacking, deception and other illicit means between 1991 and 2011.

Such is his mission to change the media landscape, Harry is prepared to put himself in the witness box, subject to rigorous cross-examination from some of the most challenging and probing lawyers in Britain.

With no cameras or recording possible, Sky News will give audiences an accurate and fair representation of what has happened in court that day, offering greater insight into how a huge case like this unfolds.

Jonathan Levy, Sky News Executive Editor and Managing Director:

“This trial and Prince Harry’s fight against the tabloid press has captured the world’s attention. With no cameras in the court, Sky News will offer viewers an accurate and fair reconstruction of what is said and a better understanding of how the case unfolds.”

Viewers will be able to watch on Sky News (Sky TV 501, Freeview 233, Virgin 603, BT 313 and Saorview 23) and stream on the Sky News website, App and YouTube channel available around the world. Sky News will be live at the High Court with updates on TV and a special live blog on the App and website throughout the day.

GB News have also announced they will be ‘recreating’ court scenes with a ‘Harry’ actor.
