OTD 1975: Kenilworth Castle Celebrations
On this Day, June 5th 1975…
ATV Today reporter John Withington takes a look at the celebrations taking place to mark the anniversary of the time when Queen Elizabeth I visited Kenilworth Castle in 1575 as the guest of the Earl of Leicester, Robert Dudley.
John interviews a woman concerning the Earl being implicated in a murder plot described by Sir Walter Scott while another lady discusses the romance between the Queen and the Earl.
Footage also shows some of the residents of Kenilworth in Warwickshire in Elizabethan costumes rehearsing for the celebrations.
