Facing up to an uncertain future, Karen decides to plan her funeral – just in case the worst happens. Horrified, Alex suggests her energy is better spent mending her broken relationship with Jessie but she shuns the idea.
Desperate to bring Karen and Jessie together again, Alex orchestrates a meeting between them – they need to talk. However, the reconciliation proves tricky as Jessie desperately tries to make amends but Karen refuses to forgive and forget. When Karen delivers the devastating possibility she might not survive her cancer battle, she’s surprisingly reassured by Jessie’s support.
Later, a frustrated Alex bumps into Nicole and before long, they make plans to meet up again – despite his better judgement.
Elsewhere, following Andrew’s recent police questioning, Scarlett challenges her partner for an explanation. Andrew spins a web of lies about Lydia, suggesting the police interest stems from a hate campaign orchestrated by Lenny Murdoch.
Scarlett takes it upon herself to speak to Lydia, urging her friend to break free from Lenny’s control. Stunned, Lydia reveals she was sexually assaulted by Andrew, leaving Scarlett stunned and torn, unsure who to believe.
A jubilant Caitlin prepares to welcome Ruby and Marcus back home but is crushed when her daughter cancels at short notice. Bitterly disappointed, Caitlin takes out her frustrations on Sam. However, he makes it clear he won’t accept this anymore – casting a shadow over their relationship.
